Creative Arts
The opportunity for self-expression is an important part of who we are as individuals. Stonehaven offers the weekly acrylic painting class plus a bi-weekly drawing class. We also offer monthly craft classes led by volunteers. We are so much looking forward to resuming our creative arts after COVID-19 vaccinations.
Virtual Passport Programs
At Stonehaven of Eagan, we provide virtual programming to our residents as an addition to our robust calendar of activities. For residents that are homebound or if they are not able to get out, this is a very wonderful experience. We have two VR headsets and access to Virtual Passport Programs curated content that is tailored specifically to senior interests.
Outings
At Stonehaven, we believe strongly in the importance of getting our residents out into the community safely. Our 15-passenger van leaves our doors quite frequently. Our outings are on hold currently due to COVID-19 but we look forward to resuming them soon. Pre-COVID, we provided weekly shopping trips, lunch outings, ladies’ night out to the movie theater, trips to the Arboretum, plays, fall color rides, spring rides, veteran lunches, men’s outing and many others. We are always open to hearing from our residents as to where they would like to go during our Resident Council meetings.
IN2L (It’s Never Too Late)
Stonehaven is excited about the opportunity to use our IN2L system within our facility and with our residents. IN2L is an innovative computer system with over 3,000 apps to provide multiple uses for our residents. The touchscreen computer is programmed for activities, games, therapy, reminiscing, music, virtual travel, staff training and so much more.
Intergenerational (Currently On-Hold)
Stonehaven has partnered with Easter Lutheran Church in Eagan one time a month with their preschool class. Preschoolers from Easter Lutheran are dropped off at Stonehaven and picked up by their parents at the end of their scheduled class time. Preschoolers will be engaged with our memory care residents and our Independent and assisted living residents as well. Stonehaven believes strongly in the importance of engaging children and youth with the seniors at our facility. We are always looking for ways to grow these opportunities.
Partnerships in Programming
Stonehaven has also developed a pen pal program with Christian Heritage Academy in Lakeville. Letters between students and seniors are sent back and forth. Some relationships have developed with residents spending time with families of their pen pal. Field trips back and forth to the school and to Stonehaven will become a wonderful connection for both sides.
